Skywalk SAGE (EN C, 2-liner)

The Skywalk SAGE ultralight XC paraglider is the ideal wing for experienced XC pilots who not only fly long distances but also fully embrace the adventure – whether it’s Hike & Fly or Vol-Biv.
Its compact design and advanced 2-liner technology create the perfect balance between the forgiving flight characteristics of C-class wings and the impressive performance of higher-class gliders. Weighing only 3.5kg, the SAGE combines outstanding performance with excellent flight comfort, making it a reliable companion for mountain adventures.
2 LINE LEVELS WITH B-STEERING
Reduces the number of lines and the resulting drag. Allows a fast, efficient flying style. Advantages: more performance, full control when flying accelerated and a better overview at launch.
SHARK NOSE
Together with a corresponding wing design, the shark nose technology improves pressure distribution in the canopy substantially. Advantages: much more solid flying feeling and substantial performance gain, especially when gliding on bar.
RIGID FOIL
Nylon wires keep the leading edge and the profile in shape and ensure constant ram air pressure. Advantages: better takeoff behavior and more performance.
3D-SHAPING
A precise calculation of the leading edge geometry and the installation of an additional strip of fabric reduce wrinkling in this sensitive part of the glider. Advantages: exact wing shape, more performance.
MINI RIBS
Doubling the number of cells at the trailing edge increases its shape stability substantially. Advantage: fewer vortices improve the aerodynamics and with it the performance.
SMART LINK SYSTEM
Color coded seams on the risers to ensure that the risers are connected correctly and without being twisted. red = left; blue = right
LAUNCH
The SAGE has a simple launch behavior for its class, requiring no special launch technique. The ultralight canopy rises above the pilot with minimal effort. To inflate the wing, you can use either the inner A-lines or the entire A-riser.
HANDLING
The Skywalk MINT has already made a name for itself as an easy-to-fly 2-liner in the C-class. Compared to the MINT, the SAGE has less brake pressure, responds even more directly to control inputs and therefore turns very smoothly. This improves centering in thermals, making it easier and safer to center in tight and turbulent thermals. Additionally, this characteristic gives the SAGE a playful handling, further enhancing the fun factor.
For a wing in the sport class, it is important that the glider maintains its course on long glides and remains stable under challenging conditions without being easily disturbed. The SAGE meets these criteria brilliantly, never feels too progressive and provides the pilot with the necessary feedback.
PERFORMANCE
As with the Skywalk MINT, the performance and speed increase of the SAGE are outstanding for a wing in the C-class.
The pilot can control the angle of attack throughout the entire speed range without fatigue by using the B-control, enabling a fast and efficient flying style.
EXTREME FLIGHT / DESCENT TECHNIQUES
A handle on the B-risers allows to compensate turbulence, speed and pitch without having to release the speed bar. At trim speed, make sure that you only use short, corrective impulses, otherwise there is a risk of stalling the wing due to strong inputs! Make sure that the brake handle is not wound during accelerated flight, otherwise there is a risk that the brake will be activated unintentionally (wing becomes more unstable, performance killer).
Due to the stiffness of the rigid foils, care must be taken when packing that the rigid foils do not bend, deform or kink. We therefore recommend using the supplied SOFTBAG and the PACKING TUBE.
We recommend using this packing method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MEj71FlxKM
The SAGE will only maintain maximum performance and fly cleanly over a long period of time if it is correctly packed. If the SAGE is not going to be used for a long time, we recommend storing the glider lengthways in the SOFTBAG and not to fold it.However, should a rigid foil deform or snap, it can be removed, shaped and reinstalled. If the problem still occurs, the rigid foil can be exchanged.

*Since February 1st, 2022, evaluations with EN C have been possible in the EN standard when using folding lines. Previously, gliders tested with folding lines were automatically EN D. How the updated EN standard will be implemented in the LTF is currently in process.
